About Michael R. Botti

Michael Botti earned his Bachelor of Arts from Marquette University and his Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from Michigan State University in 2001. Soon after graduating from Michigan State, Mr. Botti began working as an Assistant State’s Attorney in DuPage County. As a misdemeanor assistant, Michael Botti prosecuted thousands of cases, was the First Chair in a General Misdemeanor courtroom, and was responsible for prosecuting all types of misdemeanor offenses from DUI, retail theft and battery to criminal sexual assault.

As a felony assistant, Michael Botti prosecuted all types of felony cases before being promoted to the Narcotics Unit, where he prosecuted major drug offenses. While in the state’s attorney’s office, Mr. Botti was also involved in training new police officers from all over the State of Illinois. When Mr. Botti left the State’s Attorney’s Office, he was a Second Chair Felony Assistant, and had tried hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases before judges and juries.

In October of 2005, Michael Botti joined Botti Law Firm, P.C. Mr. Botti continues to practice criminal law, defending clients in traffic, misdemeanor and felony cases in both federal and state court. He also handles civil matters including personal injury and family law, and represents clients in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, Will, Winnebago, DeKalb, McHenry, and Kendall counties. Michael is also the attorney for the Illinois State Crime Commission.
