Botti Law Firm Takes On Cook County in Retaliation Lawsuit Over Missing Inmate Medications

BOTTI LAW FIRM TAKES ON COOK COUNTY IN RETALIATION LAWSUIT OVER MISSING INMATE MEDICATIONS

On June 30, 2015, Botti Law Firm, P.C. filed a lawsuit against Cook County and Cook County Health and Hospital System. The lawsuit alleges that licensed nurse, Barbara Tominac, a nurse coordinator for the Cook County Jail Woman’s Treatment Center, discovered and reported to jail supervisors that a substantial number of jail inmates for years have been deprived of their needed narcotics and psychotropic medicines. She believed that these narcotics were being diverted and/or stolen by staff within the Cook County Department of Corrections for their personal use and/or sale.  Her supervisors took no action, but instead, retaliated against Nurse Tominac by firing her.
