Grandparent Rights

A parent may restrict a grandparent from spending time with a grandchild. This usually occurs when one parent is dead and the surviving grandparents cannot see the grandchild. If this happens the grandparent can file a petition for visitation with the child. The grandparent must allege that the denial of visitation is harmful to the child. If the judge agrees, then the Grandparent will have visitation with the child.
